LRG Walking Groups - Code of Conduct
We want every walk to feel welcoming, safe and fun for everyone involved. A few simple things to know before you join us:
Being part of the group
We're a supportive, inclusive community — please treat fellow walkers and Walk Leaders with kindness and respect.
Who can join
Our walking groups are for adults aged 18+
Women are welcome to attend with babies in pushchairs but please note children remain the sole responsibility of their parent/guardian. It’s advisable to let the Walk Leader know in advance if you’re bringing a buggy so they can plan the route accordingly.
For insurance and group-safety reasons, we do not allow dogs on LRG walks.
On the day
Please arrive a few minutes before the start time so we can set off promptly together.
Let your Walk Leader know if you need to leave early or have any concerns during the walk.
Walks go ahead in most weather — check any notifications on Spond for updates if conditions look extreme.
If you can no longer make a walk you've signed up for, please update your attendance in Spond so we know numbers in advance.
Photos & videos
Our Walk Leaders may take photos to help promote the group's activity (on our website and social media). Where faces are included, they will always give you the option not to be in them.
We encourage our walkers to take and share photos too, but please respect the privacy and preferences of other walkers and seek permission before including them.
A note on safety
Our Walk Leaders are volunteers, not medical professionals. Please make sure you're comfortable with the distance/terrain before joining, and let us know of any relevant health considerations or medical considerations when registering in advance.
By joining this group, you're agreeing to these terms. If anyone is found to be in breach of these terms, they may be asked to leave the group.
Thanks for being part of LRG!
